Caroline's First 4th of July
It has long been a Moon family tradition to spend 4th of July together, and many of those times have been spent in St. Simons. B, Max, Caroline and I all travelled to Tennessee and St. Simons for our 4th of July vacations.

Caroline's First Day of Mother's Day Out
This was Caroline's first day of Mother's Day Out. What a hard day for me. I wanted to let Caroline start socializing, but I also wanted to keep her home with me. I remember being afraid that she would miss me too much and cry all day. I worried that other kids would be mean or that the teachers would be mean. I was wrong! She loved MDO so much. She loved her teachers, Ms Cida and Ms Bobbie. This was the first time I realized that I had a social butterfly on my hands!

The Start of Summer
We settled into life in Oklahoma with great ease. We loved having our days in a huge backyard since we had no yard at all in Virginia. We also loved spending our days with B and Max. These were wonderful days of learning about our lives in Oklahoma. Some of the memories made in the first few months in Oklahoma will stay with me for life.

Spring 2009
This was a time of great transition for our family. We decided to move to Oklahoma. My Mom and Dad came to Alexandria to move us and to take Caroline and me home with them to Tennessee. James stayed behing to finish his work and fix up our house to put on the market. I remember the day that we drove away from James and Alexandria. It was such a sad day. I loved Alexandria, and hated to leave such an amazing place where so many wonderful memories were made. I had my first real job in DC, met James in Alexandria, bought my first home, and started a family. I also hated leaving James. It was only for about a month, but it was the first time our family had been seperated. What a hard day! Caroline and I stayed with my Mom and Dad until we found a house in Oklahoma and officially moved there. It was a crazy hectic time, but we made it through. What a blessing looking back. We are so happy with our lives in Oklahoma. I miss Old Town, but love being near family and the new wonderful friends we have made.
This spring has brought a lot of changes to our family. The biggest change is our move to Oklahoma. We loved living in Alexandria, Va, but we really wanted to move closer to family. We just bought a home in Oklahoma City about a quarter of a mile from my sister. We are busily moving in and unpacking boxes. Caroline has had a very busy month.

7 Months
This is one of my favorite memories from Caroline's first year. We were at the school yard that was directly across the street from our house in Alexandria, VA. It was one of the first times that we took her outside to play. We knew that we were moving to Oklahoma, so I remember looking around trying to soak it all in. I remember looking around thinking that it was going to be so scary to not see this park, school, familiar streets, etc every day. It was such a wonderful place to live. I still miss it(2 1/2 years after moving), but it was the best decision. Caroline is my Old Town girl, and I will always cherish the memories I made with her in Alexandria.
