Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year! We spent the weekend with the Sexton clan. We celebrated Chuck's birthday, James' birthday and Mother's Day all in one weekend! I got to sleep late, drink a big cup of Starbucks coffee and eat very yummy food this morning. James and Caroline gave me a sweet card and a rose to celebrate. We went to supper with our sweet friends Brad, Sarah and Kate at Hideaway Pizza. Overall it was a wonderful day!

Easter Weekend

Our family had a wonderful Easter weekend with family and friends. We went to Enid on Saturday to help James' sister Kristen and her husband Kyle with their new house. They bought a charming older home that needed some work. We had such fun getting our hands dirty. We had a great Easter the next day with all of James' family and both sets of grandparents. It was wonderful for Caroline to spend time with her Great-Grandparents since she doesn't see them often! Caroline woke up on Easter to find that the Easter Bunny had visited her at Nana and Grandpa's. She was a big fan of the candy- she had a little too much! After opening her Easter gifts we all participated in the Sexton Family Easter Egg Hunt. Caroline had a great time hunting eggs for the first time. We headed home in the afternoon to prepare for Easter dinner at our house with the Blasdel's and Thomas'. We had a great time letting Caroline, Kate and Max hunt eggs in our back yard. Caroline enjoyed opening the eggs, eating the candy, and throwing the eggs back on the ground. She is smart! After the big hunt we had a wonderful pot luck style dinner of traditional holiday foods. We had such a great night with our family and sweet friends. What a wonderful day we had with some of the people we love most. We sure did miss Mimi, Papa and Uncle Jase this weekend, but we still had lots of fun.

Elmo Live

This past weekend was a great one! Max, Anne Braden, Caroline and I decorated easter eggs on Friday afternoon. Saturday morning we all went to Elmo Live Imagine 1-2-3! The kids had the best time! The show was amazing, and the kids had a great time dancing and bouncing to the music.

Zoo

Yesterday was a wonderful day for Miss Caroline and me! It was a beautiful 60 something degrees here in OKC, so we took full advantage. Caroline had Mother's Day Out yesterday, which she loves since she gets to see some of her favorite friends there. Yesterday was an extra special day at school because they gave the kiddos ice cream! Caroline does love ice cream. After Mother's Day Out Caroline and I went to the Zoo with Anne Braden, Max, my dear friend Sarah, and Caroline's best girl friend and Sarah's daughter Kate. We had a blast letting the kiddos run around and see all of the animals. Max and Caroline even had a visit to the Zoo play ground where they got to swing and slide down the "wee." What a fun day!! We are ready for Spring to stick around.

Growing Up

I have been feeling lots of joy and a little sadness lately. Caroline is growing up too fast! I have always loved Caroline -not only because she is my daughter, but for so many reasons - she has the cutest growl that she shares when she is happy, she has the cutest smile with the funniest little teeth you have ever seen, her huge blue eyes glisten when she is happy or excited, she loves to "swim" and play with bubbles in the bath tub, she loves to scream as loud as she can. My baby loves life!

Snow

This weekend Caroline had the pleasure of playing in snow for the very first time. We had a BIG weekend! Friday we went outside and played in the 4+ inches of snow, had a fun lunch and made some famous snow cream. Caroline loved every second of it! On Saturday we went to my sisters home so Max and Caroline could play together in the snow. They didn't last very long outside, but the kiddos had lots of fun. Not to mention we had the pleasure of eating Anne Braden's famous chili! Overall we had a wonderful weekend. I love all the memories we are creating with Caroline. I am soaking up every moment since I hear it all goes way too fast. We are having lots of fun .

Christmas

We had an amazing Christmas this year. Caroline loved spending time with Mimi, Papa and the rest of the family. We had adventures on the farm with rides on the Gator and trips to see the horses at the horse barn. We watched lots of Christmas movies, ate lots of Christmas food, and read the Night Before Christmas a dozen times. Santa was very very good to Caroline this year! He brought her blocks, a talking and kissing Elmo doll, a life size Dalmation, and a huge tree house tent. It was an amazing trip and an amazing holiday.
